For six consecutive years, the American Forum
has conducted successful academic and in-country programs for educators
to the People’s Republic of China and Vietnam. This year,
we will be again offering a major academic project focusing on Vietnam
and Cambodia, two nations rapidly growing in importance in Southeast
Asia. We were glad to be able to offer educators the opportunity
to study both about the history and culture of these nations and
then have the incredible experience of spending time in Vietnam
and Cambodia. In addition to helping Global Studies teachers, we
hope that this opportunity will encourage American History teachers
to reconsider how we teach about American involvement in Asia during
the 20th century.
