Annotation: This unit analyzes the concept of a "minority" culture by comparing and contrasting the notions of minorities in China and in the U.S. The unit focuses on the unique situation in the Chinese provinces of Tibet and Xinjiang as it pertains to issues of national identity and ethnicity.
