The Chinese Wedding


What can you say about the clothes the bride and groom are wearing?

The clothes of the bride are bright and red. And the groom is wearing something black and long.


How is it different from and/or similar to the wedding in your homeland?
It's very different from the weddings in my homeland. First, our brides wear white clothes that are very beautiful, they look like a queen; our grooms wear black suits. Second, the bride and groom in my country know each other beforehand. All weddings, mainly are according to love. Third, a couple in my country marry when they are approximately 22-25 years old.


How does the age of the couple compare to what you know?
I consider the weddings in China unusual, because the couple in the movie is too young to get married. I think that most people can marry when they have an education, good work, and good mind for house life.


One thing the movie that surprised me is...

People didn't know each other.

One thing I learned about the traditional wedding in China is that...
The weddings in China are unmoral and wrong.

The clothes the bride was wearing its good, but the groom was wearing black in the wedding.


How is it different and or similar to the weddings in your homeland?


There's some things similar in that wedding and the weddings in my country. That's the match makers "job" but that happened so many years ago, and different the clothes of the groom, the bride's clothes are similar in some ways compared to the styles in my country.


How does the age of the couple compare to what you know?

They look too young to get married.


One thing in the movie that surprised me is...


That these weddings have a lot in common with the weddings in my country.


One thing I learned about the traditional wedding in China is that...


That they have a lot in common with the weddings in my country.

This is national clothes of China and that is their culture. I can say nothing.


How is it different from and/or similar to the weddings in your homeland?


Everything is different...
o Clothes
o The celebration
o The relationship between families
o The relationship between bride and groom
o The clothes in my country is white for her, and black for the him.


How does the age of the couple compare to what you know?


I think the age of the groom is too young. In my country people normally get married from about 20-30 years old.


One thing in the movie that surprised me is...


That they only met the day before the wedding.


One thing I learned about the traditional wedding in China is that...


I learned that this tradition is outdated and does not happen today in the year 2000.

The clothes of the bride are red and the groom's clothes are black. The bride is wearing something on her head and her face is covered by a towel.


How is it different from and/or similar to the weddings in your homeland?


The difference between Chinese and my homeland wedding are the grooms wear a black suit and the brides wear white dresses and carry flowers in her hands.


How does the age of couple compare to what you know?


The age of the couple should be at least 18 years old from what I know.


One thing in the movie that surprised me is...


How the bride gets married, she closes her eyes and a woman blesses her, and she doesn't know who her future husband is.


One thing I learned about the traditional wedding in China is...


The young couple respect the tradition and obey them.
